This is How We Play in the "MindField"

The topmost picture in this post is the game board you should save to your computer to reference during the show .
The picture directly above is an example game, (we truly hope is, at least, halfway self explanatory. You probably shouldn't try to play if it's not.) The object of the game is simple, try to get from the top atrium of your choice to the "Final Field" challenge by navigating your way through the "Mindfield" by answering a series of "True or False" Questions. The sections below each atrium have questions that would be in that particular realm, (ie "Book Learning = Academic Questions and Life Learning = Popular Culture Questions).

The white boxes represent the gates that pass between positions on the game board. The Contestant is free to move however they choose on the board one space at a time. (Yes, you may even exit out the far left to get to the far right and vice-versa a la Pac-Man, or even back to the atrium. The atrium is the only place you may jump a space.) The Contestant is asked to choose one of the other three gates in at the position they just entered, (left, right, or forward this is based on the gate by which you came through to arrive in the space. In other words, if you entered the space from the left, right would be forward, up would be left, and down would be right.) Depending on the configuration of that particular game one of the following things will happen:

1. The contestant chooses an unmined gate. (indicated by the green stars, 36 total each game). This means that if they fail to answer the question correctly in the time alloted they will then have to choose one of the other two gates in order to proceed.

2. The contestant chooses a "Switch Option"* gate. (indicated by the blue checkmarks, 20 total each game.) This means that if the contestant is unable to answer the question or answer incorrectly they will be given a new question without having to risk choosing one of the other two gates, (for obvious reasons), and continue on their original path.

3. The contestant chooses a "Mined"* gate. (indicated by...Oh for Pete's Sake...if you haven't figured out which ones those are, you really don't need to be playing. Go fish "Candyland" or "Chutes and Ladders" out of the closet and don't come back without a Junior High Diploma or GED. 28 total each game.) Should the contestant not answer correctly, their game will be unceremoniously over. (Don't worry, you can try again on the next show. The chances are we'll have better prizes by then.) The question is then given to the next caller. They then take the previous contestant's place on the board to continue the game only after they can clarify why a "False" question is false, ( ex.: "Abraham Lincoln was shot by John "Wilkes" Booth not John "William" Booth."), or by answering another "True or False" question relating to the subject of the previously wrong "True", (or "False" for a single glaringly obvious reason), question.

(*= An audible notification is given when a player activates either of these gates.)

Rules, (thus far):

1. Contestants must be at least 16 years of age to play.

2. You must call from an unblocked phone number. You may also use Skype provided your user ID is visible. (Should you win, you will want someone to call you to get shipping info for your prize, right?)

3. Once you have won you are ineledgible to play again for 26 weeks. (I know, I could have said half a year, but it sounds shorter this way.)

4. While this is on internet radio currently, (hoping for a television show out of this), we are striving to make this a family friendly show. So, with that in mind, Profanity is an instant wrong answer where you will get hung up on with no send off and the next caller will take your place. Got it?

5. Since this show is in its infancy, knowing me, the host, or anyone associated with it will not hurt your chances to play for now. (Just don't expect any favoritism as the world will be listening. Yeah, that's right. I'm talking to you, April and Dennis.)

6. The show's producers reserve the right to change any prize to one of equal or greater value depending on availability.
7. No cash substitutions for prizes.

8. Contestants are responsible for any and all taxes on prizes exceeding $500.00 in value.

9. The Show, its producers and latalkradio.com can not be held responsible for anything said by contestants and guests of the show.

So...Who's ready to play?

We will post this week's prizes and explain the "Final Field" challenge in the next post prior to our first show on Wednesday April 29th @ 6:00pm Pacific time. (9:00pm Eastern)
